Frank is disappointed
Our friend Frank is disappointed in Tony, and some how I got implicated as well. This is what Frank wrote Tony recently:
"Tina told me today that you've been arrested for smuggling artifacts from Taiwan or something and grave robbing. Is that how you're financing your move to Chicago? Casey's probably in cahoots with you. That would explain the swords and the big mustache. We are very disappointed with you."
WHAT? How did I get involved with this graverobbing? All I did was grow a moustache.
so Frank is awesome; more stories about Frank, I think, will inevitably show up in this space.
...anyways, here's a video Tony just sent me.

Brazilian Governor Fires Verb Form
``The present participle is hereby fired from all federal district entities,'' the governor wrote in a decree posted on the government's Web site last night. ``As of today, it is forbidden as an excuse for INEFFICIENCY.''
So absurd. where do they think they are, France?

writers' strike comes to Law & Order
I love cop shows. I can't get enough of them, and it's really the last 4 or 5 months that I've come to feel this way.
My friend Tony knows about my recently acquired affliction and sent me this clip depicting what we should expect should the strike continue.
[actually, I kind of like it.]

when you can't find a unicorn
this works really well as a unicorn chaser substitute.
found on a cracked article about Fortune 500 companies that worked for the Nazis.
in need of a chaser, indeed.

isolated tracks for Sgt.Pepper
This is fantastic. Somebody did a hell of a job isolating different tracks on the Beatle's Sgt.Pepper: First the drums and bass, then guitar and horns, then vocals.
and then all back together again. awesome.
I hope he puts more up soon. mad skills.
via bOINGbOING
update: so maybe not so much mad skills, but stil very cool. it seems these weren't isolated from the cd, but are from four track recordings -- still cool for their the rare-osity fo it. more info.

Rodrigo y Gabriela
OK I admit it -- I'm little slow to the bandwagon again. Misti turned me on to Rodrigo and Gabriela a couple of weeks ago and i've been listening to their self titled album off and on non-stop since (is that even possible?).
They were in a mexican metal band together before moving to Ireland where they took off. They do a cover of "Stairway to Heaven" that reminds me why I fell in love with that song in jr. high.

a Place to Bury Strangers
My friend Rick turned me on to this band some months back. They combine some of the better aspects of the Cure with the distorted surf sound of the Jesus and Mary Chain. I think that's how Rick first described them to me and it's pretty right on.

How to eat at a Sushi Restaurant
A video on the etiquette of eating in a sushi restaurant.
My favorite part (not surprisingly) is pouring the beer.
